How comment to DM works

   Someone comments on your post or reel

   Instagram notifies ChatPeak about the new comment right away.

   ChatPeak checks the keyword

   Keywords match as whole words and ignore capital letters, so link matches "Link please!" but not "linkedin". Several keywords can start the same automation.

   The commenter gets a private reply

   The first message of your flow goes out as a direct message tied to the comment. Use {{first_name}} to greet people by name.

   Optional: a public reply under the comment

   Right after the DM went out, ChatPeak can answer under the comment, for example "Sent, check your DMs". Add up to five versions and ChatPeak picks one at random for each comment.

   The conversation continues when they answer

   Further messages in the flow wait until the person writes back. Their reply picks the flow up again, and the whole conversation shows in your inbox.

Instagram's rules, built in

Meta's private replies documentation allows one message to a commenter, sent within 7 days of the comment. More messages are only allowed once the person answers, within 24 hours of their answer. ChatPeak is built around exactly these limits.

Choose which posts it answers

A comment automation can answer comments on every post, or only on the posts you pick from your account in the flow builder. That way a giveaway reel and an evergreen guide can each have their own keyword and message.
